ok got my new bbka chip 2day and i opened my ecu and im missing the chip thats supposed to go in the 20 pin slot #74HC373 do i need the chip that goes there and if so what is it 4. I think my old ecu guy took it when he removed my all motor chip both spots are allready soketed

 

You need it, I do not know exactly what it does though

 

since you dont know what its for and you dont know what the chips is for then you need to send me the ecu and forget it cause you should not even be here

eprom chip it is what has all the fuel and ignition maps and other ---- that runs the car

 

An octal latch goes there. It latches half of the address sent from the MCU.

You can get one from Fry's or possibly a local electronics shop.

Or I can send you one for a couple bucks. PM me.

the 74hc373 are octal D-type transparent latches

from what I gather this chip basically reads, stores, and sends information of the 28 pin eprom/eeprom. It needs to be there for the 29c256 or whatever eprom/eeprom you are using to work.

---- lick me *** my bad i didnt see the arrow the first time all i saw was a empty socket for the eprom but you are right mad it for a octal latch

 

why the ---- woudl somebody socket that spot then put it in when you can just solder the bitch in there?
