Re: ONLINE TUNING CLASSES

I was figuring on three discs. The two stated as basic starter stuff. The third would gloss over the highlights of extra features/ and datalogging to give an understanding of how to perfect the tune. I myself have yet to purchase CromePro, so for me this a learning experience as well. I have dabbled with Crome Free and FreeLog since my tune a year ago to date. I felt that the two disc experience would encompass the same material as what goes into a normal street tune from hooking up to the ECU all the way to WOT pulls, pulling plugs and then burning the chip. We spent roughly 2 days doing this with light traffic, stopping for lunch and my usual errands/ phone calls in between. I could edit most of that and get it down to a solid 1.5 discs on the basics.

The Extra features would be a whole other level, of which I have yet to experience. Feel free to tell me to stop if you feel I am over my head, no hard feelings I swear!

My main liability as a teacher is how I speak in overly complicated technicalities, and then drift off mid sentence because my train of thought has left the building.

I am in no way trying to impede the flow of information, but I dunno how useful I'd be over a mere 1.5-2 day period of time. Since I'd be there to primarily tune your car, secondarily give you pointers on DIY, and tertiarily to drop the geek speak and try to put on a polished PR facade... you'll be lucky to get 45 minutes of good footage on one subject, and have another 30 minutes of snippets that could be interleaved with later footage.

I am trying to stop laughing, that was the best!

I understand and agree with you regarding your points. Either way, if you feel there would be a benefit or could be a benefit to the general public let me know. I will try to help any way I can. Just figured I would play the other half of the role like last time with the Y8 issue.

seems to me that if this is going to happen, It will be for Crome users but there is still some of us that use Turboedit please don't forget about us .

i will pay some $$$$$ for someone or something that will teach me how to use TE and dataloging on my car

TurboEdit is a gateway drug for DIYers...no real commercial interest there unfortunately, and its not so much good business to put as much time and effort that would be required into something that is no longer supported or really being developed.

Its a great platform to learn on and then step up to where the big boys play once you figure out how truly easy this all really is...

so what you are trying to say is that in order to tune my car correctly i will have to go obd-1 and use crome right?

i mean if there is no support for Turboedit than why use it

No thats not what he's saying at all. Turbo edit as it is now works fine. It's just not being developed anymore meaning no more new features will be added no bugs will be fixed it's done. But you can tune a car with it.

If you want to really get into tuning and keep up with the latest features and whatnot get crome or possibly neptune.
Who knows one of these programs may come up with an OBD pluggin were you choose obd0 or 1 and works for both.

I wish I knew more about code writin and ecu hardware so I could get fully involved in the develpment of Obd2 tuning. At some point it's going to have to happen.

Re: ONLINE TUNING CLASSES

I've used TE a maximum of twice.

After knowing how to set up COM ports on Crome, and get everything working correctly in the OBD0 world, TE took me 1.9 nanoseconds to figure out.

Xencron...

I have been reading most of this chit chat, your right there is allot more then Hondas out there. I my self being a convert to Nissan.

my rb20det ecu has only one similarity. it to uses 27c256 eprom.... for its maping. SR's got some other ---- i don't care about.
on that note, there is some editing software out there for the very specification, but not alot of US support and if any its incomplete.

don't get me wrong there is places for KA24's , but im not talking about a KA am I. RB motor thats whole new matter.

so the points is

Yes a Generalized Tuning Conference like. this is where you sell your skill as a Tuner and as a Teacher for Money. you could make $35 to $100 a head if you wanted to go that steep. and it would have to be orginaized. on top of that you could Vidoe tape it. now thats a doubleing down.

like doing a open house with an exhibition on top of it... should very easy to set up. do it localy and get someone to vidoe tape it.

you can set it up into 3 segments.
Basics. fundimentals
intermidiate. you decided what that is... maping, VE ----, better explained and details more philosophy... sounds like college course... allready... :1
advanced. (that would depend on your level of competency and willingness to go further)

those are my thoughts..

cheers
falkhen
