Re: obd2>obd1 conversion
Here is the diagrams. You will need to switch to a Y8 or Z6 manifold with a 2 wire IAC. http://www.turbod16.com/viewtopic.php?t=3572

Re: obd2>obd1 conversion
csaddict- your link says all AT vtec, and non vtec cars use a 3 wire. does this mean his dog-o-matic? Y8 has a 2 wire? ---- obdII

Re: obd2>obd1 conversion
just unplug it and look at the wires and you'll know either 2 or 3
lol |
Re: obd2>obd1 conversion
Automatic Y8's have a three wire IACV. Even more of a problem is going to be the fact that you have an auto car and the ecu harness has 4 plugs and an auto p28 ecu only has a place for 3. So you plug it all in minus that plug and your all happy that it starts up, but your gonna be really pissed when you try to drive it and the damn thing will not let you shift out of park. Without that fourth plug, plugged into the ecu, you have no auto tranny functions. But that is ok, your sort of in luck, cause there is a company that now makes an OBD2 -> OBD1 "AUTO" conversion harness. Check out http://www.rywire.com/store/product_...products_id=57 It's not a cheap conversion harness, but sometimes you have to pay to play. Ok, so now your happy cause you got it all figured out, you just have to do the 3 wire to 2 wire conversion on the IACV, BUT WAIT!!! there is no spot to mount the 2 wire IACV on the auto Y8 intake manifold because the auto one is on the throttle body :o So what's the answer to this one you ask....well, it's Thanksgiving, not Christmas and I am not gonna tell you everything. Why is everyone spoonfeeding you info? I have no idea and it is actually blowing my mind. :S
Oh switch to a maual Y8 intake.....Merry Christmas fucker!! |
Re: obd2>obd1 conversion
hell id drill some holes in it and mount the y8 IACV on it lol

*edit* I guess if you had an old TB you could bolt on and use it as a guide for the one hole that is angled it might help. |
Re: obd2>obd1 conversion
His car is a stick, i would NEVER put a turbo on an auto car. Unless it was a GN.
