just make sure it's an OBD2B->OBD1 harness because the 96-00 cars are divided into two levels of OBD2. And yeah obviously you need a chipped OBD 1 ecu (p28 works good)

now learn to search fuckface

OBD2b-->OBD1 harness and OBD1 ECU is all you need

OBD2 distributors are electronically identical to OBD1 distributors...

Keep in mind if your friends car is a Y7 engine or a Dog-o-matic Y8 it has a 3 wire IAC valve. You would need to convert to a 2 wire. Good luck with that.

there is obd2a and obd2b as mentioned earlier. I can't remember which one goes with which year set, so your lazy *** is going to have to search and find out because if you order the wrong one you might as well be trying to install a flux capacitor in the bitch (it won't work).
