Re:obd2->obd1
the following rules apply for the '3 wire' iacv plug on obd2 civics:
1) all obd2 b series have 2 wire iacv (so you don't have to worry about it
2) all manual obd2 ex and hx (vtec equipped sohc's), also have the two wire iacv already
3) all other sohc's have the 3 wire iacv and need to be switched to a 2 wire

Re:obd2->obd1
this was jacked from another thread from another site and is not the thread iam talking about. but it references the same idea. the thread iam talking about earlier has a better description and ill try to find it.
Ok dude I just finished doing this for my 1996 Civic CX. I am running it with an P75 ECU and it run's great. All you need to do for the IACV 3 wire to work with OBD1 ECU is:
On the OBD2 connector put a Jumper on terminals A12 to A14 and these connect to the A9 terminal on the OBD1 side. The third wire is A13 on the OBD2 connector and it goes to A23 on the OBD1 side.
That's all dude now your friend does not need to change the intake manifold.
