obd0 to obd1 conversion - Problems... ??

Got a friend whose converted his obd0 setup to obd1. We have a few questions tho.

1.) I could not find a ROM to run obd0 maps in obd1 ecu... So I just burn't a p28 basemap to run for now. (disabled most sensors.. eld, knock, 02, etc).... Does anyone know if there are any BINS, or ROMS out there to support a obd0 program in an obd1 ecu?? (I also exported an obd0 map using crome to import to the p28 map... but the cell number was different, and I couldn't figure out how to import it.

2.) The idle is now at 2000 rpm, and the rev limiter for some reason kicks in at 4000rpm. (even tho i told crome 7000)..
Im thinking the rev-limiter is a sensor configuration in crome.)

Setup:
91 CRX
91 SI Motor (originally pm6 codebase)
obd1 ECU (p06)
obd1 distributer (repinned to use old plug)
obd0 to obd1 conversion harness.

Crome Pro
Moates Burn1

try running a P06 bin... thats probably the closest youll come to a D16A6... then tune off that...

dont try to swap OBD0 bins into a OBD1 program... think about it for a sec.....it just doesnt make since...

but i HIGHLY doubt that is the real issue...

that is screaming limpmode action... is the CEL on? if its not, you sure it works?

ok, i will try the p06 bin.

If anyone has a bin file for a d16a6, please let me know.

Im wondering if the distributer was pinned incorrectly...

timing is 2 degrees retard at base on the p06

2000 rpms sounds like cold revlimit a la FIT-V. 4000 rpms sounds like FTL - did you use someone elses .bin found online, and open it in a version of Crome that doesn't have AddExtraFeatures script installed?

Manually fudge A6 ignition timing into OBD1 P-whatsis code, start with P06 fuel map and prepare to add more up top.

Is the car/engine harness originally a 91 Si, or is it some other trim level?

I used this bin
http://www.pgmfi.org/twiki/pub/Libra...PM6-A09-65.bin
from here:
http://www.pgmfi.org/twiki/bin/view/...efinitionCodes
... and DID NOT modify it.

------

... I dont think the chassi itself is SI (judging by the missing sunroof) I will ask him.

... I could see the FIV being the issue when the car is cold, but he claims its always running 2000 rpm idle (mabye the IACV?)

... he said something about confusing two wires when re-pinning the distributer ???

... I will attempt to manually merge the timing/fuel settings into p06 map. Any sensors, etc, I need to disable/enable?

Yah, switcheroo that for OBD1 code and I can talk you through from there based on CELs and how the car drives.

Here's the correct wiring for the obd1 dizzy on obd0 harness. Please sticky this someone if a mod wants to, the paper I have this written down on is getting pretty torn up :P

From obd0 to obd1
blue/green -------> orange
blue/yellow --------> white
orange/blue -------> orange/blue
white/blue -------> white/blue
orange -------> blue/green
thin white -------> blue/yellow
thick white -------> yellow/green

Hope this helps out a little, I know these colors are correct, I've used it multiple times in obd1 swaps and has been flawless. Good luck.

Problem is a lot of OBD0-1 conversion harnesses are pinned differently, and that pin out won't work. You have to pin-out test from the harness to the OBD1 ECU connector, and swap pins accordingly... trick is, the engine harness side of the plug, looking at the recepticle side, is exactly the same as looking at the rightmost 6 pins on the OBD1 C plug, same staggered pin orientation and everything:

C11 C13 C15
C12 C14 C16

Amazing, really, it's like Honduh was thinking about what they were doing.

FYI, all you need to run the car successfully in limp home mode is TDC (4 tooth) sensor and TPS. ;)

Ok, I see what you mean. The colors I posted are pretty much meant for swapping the plugs at the dizzy on the original obd0 harness...i.e. cutting off the original obd0 dizzy plug off the obd0 harness and replacing it with the obd1 plug. Dx to Si obd0 harnesses just add to the fun at the dizzy.
