i see this whole section on ECU chip burning but nothing has definate info on what hardware to get and software to use.

(i see alot of hardware around, but not sure if it is for OBD-0, or 1)

I need to know where to get a chip burner and all the hardware/software/info i need to start burning.
Ok here is what i found after searching the net for info.

i've got a p28 i haven't socketed yet...i can socket it too if you want. i don't have the datalogging supplies, but if you run a wideband with logging capabilities you will be ok.

pm me if you are interested.

you can pretty much buy any eprom burner out there on the market, just make sure it will program 29c256 or 27 series chips... then you'll be good to go...

what ECU are you burning for?

i am really thinking about using the method of a prgrammable chip with a serial port on the ECU, so i don't have to remove and install new chips everytime i want to adjust anything.

No such thing, unless you want to use a ROMulator, which isn't a permanent solution. The purpose of mouting a serial port on the ecu is strictly for datalogging. For a new tune, you need to re-burn and insert the new chip in the ecu. No big deal; should take like 5 minutes. :-P
