moates burner question
i need some help here... im trying to upload a map to my chip (27SF512) which is on the supported list... and every time i try to verify it aginst the buffer it comes back negative and when i save what the chip has and read it its one setting all the way across in the fuel and timeing tables and the injector size is totaly fucked over
anyone know what i'm doing wrong? :l |
Re: moates burner question
i check it right after burning and it says the chip is blank :l
|
Re: moates burner question
are you insterting the chip right onto the burner?
|
Re: moates burner question
im putting it in exactly as the picture on there website shows it... so unless thats wrong then yes im putting it in correctly as far as i know
|
Re: moates burner question
are you loading the file? on mine, i have to have whatever program that im burning closed. (close uberdata if im burning a rom from the uber directory).
|
Re: moates burner question
yup, uberdata is closed and i load the bin to the buffer and hit program chip... it says sucessful, then when i check to see if its blank it says chip is blank

PromIO.dll Version: 1.00.0098.00 HW: Flash & Burn v5.10.F Checking for blank device... Chip is blank. File Loaded: \Desktop\Uberdata1.70\8K limit.bin File Size in bytes (Integer/Hex): 32768/0x8000 Programming Device from buffer... ----------------------------------- PROM I/O succeeded. Verifying device against buffer... FAILURE: Verification Failed (not matched) Checking for blank device... Chip is blank. |
Re: moates burner question
I don't know why this might make the chip register as blank, but are starting the burn at the correct offset address?
http://www.moates.net/documentation....entation_id=20 Homdas use a 32k file. |
Re: moates burner question
i set it up according to the write up on there site, everything is set right as far as i know

Re: moates burner question
nope, these are mine
32k (32768) 27SF512 008000 -> 00FFFF 000000 -> 007FFF |
Re: moates burner question
when i click on the 27SF.. chip option, the codes change to this.
CHIP ADDRESSING 000000 -> 00FFFF BUFFER ADDRESSING 000000 -> 007FFF try changing them, that could be it. |
Re: moates burner question
mine wont even use those numbers... it changes them automaticly when i try to input them
|
Re: moates burner question
The ROM might be faulty. |
Re: moates burner question
if you mean the burner then i dont think so... if your talking about the map then deffinitly not, i've tried over a dozen diffrent maps, downloaded ones and ones from my own computer
first time dealing with a chip burner so im a little illiterate :1 i guess i'll see if its the chips in a couple days |

Re: moates burner question
tried that as well, didnt change anything... talked to craig from moates (he actualy called me) and he said it's unusual for the chips to go bad like that but told me to give the ones i ordered a try and if they dont work he'd see what he can do for me

Re: moates burner question
A problem I had sounds sorta similar to yours. It said it succeded, but everything was all fucked up, solid cel, etc. This was using the flash & burn program that came on the moates cd that somebody sent me w/the burner when I bought it. I went online and I found a different version of flash & burn, downloaded it, ran it, and it worked. Give it a try. Good luck.
