Re:moates burner??
You can find the Willems burner on Ebay, but it's a bit more ghetto. Cheaper usually though. Alot of the guys on the uberdata board have used the Moates burner with no problem. I have a Batronix, spent about $110 (I think) but the one drawback it has is that it needs AC power. If you could just get the power from the usb cable and laptop like the Moates, that would rock.

Re:moates burner??
First I bought a batronix diy kit. Never got that to work (talk about a ------ headache). Then got a willem, it worked for a while until I left it in the car overnight and I'm guessing the heat fried something. Then I decided to get a good one and ordered a top2003 off of ebay. Bitch wouldn't burn 29c's. Sold that on ebay and bought a Moates, worked the first time and everytime since.

I like my Moates for the most part.
Ive noticed that it wont burn my Atmel 29c256(C)
but will program the Atmel 29c256(I)
I checked Digikey and guesss there is an industrial and a commercial version of the chip. Basically big fat Oreo looking ones dont work. The thinner ones work flawlessly.
This is Atmel 29c256 specific.
