Default megasquirt, bmw, stupid air flow meter, need advice

im lookin into buildign a megasquirt for my 92 318, experimenting and probly boost, id like to get rid of my air flow meter or at least replace is with a larger one.

my car has coil packs.

also i guess its hard to get a rpm signal on my car? read that somewhere

any advice anyone wants to throw out there ill take it. also thinking about replacing my intake manifold with one from a 6cyl with a runner chopped off each end(see picture below), mine seems to be overly complicated

my afm, notice very small square opening

intake manifold, seems to have 2 chambers, top and bottom, top is to larger runners with 2 seperate butterflys at the opening, going to a lower half by 2 splitting into 4. very large mess

heres a 6cyl manifold

im probly picking up a 6cyl long block cheap from a obd1 325 but id still like to mess with this motor and try and boost it, because its slow, and because %99 of bmw people seem to think its next to impossible and tell me "why not buy a dasc supercharger" which is some lame $3300 piece of ---- these people barely touch 200whp with

I'm sure you searched and found this one on here
https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...?topic=72190.0

But MS2+Extra will do pretty much and trigger wheel and you could do direct ignition control using your current crank trigger, mitsu v6 ignitor and reuse your stock coils or use mitsu 6 coils, ford v6 coils or just about any others in a wastedspark setup. Pretty easy and works well.

why, it's the same damn thing as that one, more or less? switch to a map sensor, ---- velocity meters.

ya i wish , those things are so gay, id much rather have a tiny sensor in my intake manifold , i wish there was a easy way to do a firewall map from a older honda and keep the ecu stock for now

Just a thought about the RPM signal, does this engine have cam position sensors? My friend used the CPS on his car to get a RPM signal with MSII....

Might be worth a try.
