LSvtec turbo making less power boosted than NA, advice
Hello again guys.
We are fighting with another LSvtec turbo car that just isnt being nice to us.
90 intergra
This one is a 11.6:1 LSvtec w/T3 turbocoupe turbo, 2.5" DP, tial 38mm, 6.5psi, 440 injectors, ITR valvetrain, ITR cams, Chipped P28, Hondata S200b etc
NA this car made 160whp on a dyno dynamics unit.
Now currently on boost it is making approximately 140?
Did a compression test/leak down test just to be safe and there is no sign of a blown head gasket or a failed bottom end.
Wastegate is holding pressure throughout the RPM range and isnt loosing boost anywhere on the graph.
We tuned out the vtec dip and it gained 40whp in the midrange, but the car isnt making the power it should be capable of.
Motor has lots of fuel, AF's are approximately 11.8 in the midrange and goes to about 10.9-11.0 by 8000
There are no boost leaks to our knowledge and the motor is still strong.
should also mention that another issue we are having is a interrmittant vtec engaugment. Car isnt losing any oil and the screen on the vtec solenoid is clean, so that is another interesting problem.
Im gonna pull the valve cover off next time im working on it and make sure the t-belt hasnt jumped a tooth, just to be on the safe side.
Other than that, im kinda stumped as to what the issue could be.
Anyone have any suggestions?

I had a problem with vtec coming in and out. and it wouldnt show ---- for power... it was just coming in and out super fast and you couldnt hear it. Ended up having a bad oil pump.

He has also recently notice a steady decrease in oil pressure, so we are gonna be swapping the pump out for a B16 oil pump and go from there. See how it goes after.
When we were on the dyno, we could hear the vtec solenoid engage every so often, but even when it did come on, it made dick all for power.
give it a shot and go from there i guess
thx.
