Just get a Megsquirt and be done with it.
MS1 cheapest will do the job.

I already have MS2. this is a car of a friend of mine.
the reason why i want a romeditor is: this way i can tune other cars, with a chipped ecu. not another standalone system for every car.

well, i had a huge ------- post typed up, and then i couldnt upload a zip and when i tried, i lost my post... so most DSM, GM, Nissan people use tunerpro, cause it can be customized to work with literally any scale/map... once a .xdf(definition) file is made, you can view/modify whatever maps the xdf points to... i've uploaded a .bin file that NEEDS to be renames to .zip before you try and use it, since the site doesnt allow zipped files... this will include a S13 KA .bin and .xdf file to get you aquainted with tunerpro.

I use Tuner Pro 99% of the time for my Infiniti (Nissan) ECU. I've never made an XDF file and would think it would be a pain to do from scratch. You would need to know the exact addresses for all the maps and values in order to know what to change. There are plenty of XDF address files around if you search. I only really know Nissan tuning so I can't say what's available for the VW, BMW, etc products. Here's a couple of resources for BIN files and Address files, primarily for Nissan stuff.

Rom Editor is the only other one I've used. You need an ADR file for it or the ECU you are tuning. You have to activate Japanese lanquage support for this one but it's in English. For some reason the window sizes are jacked up if you don't have the Jap support installed.

You can modify any BIN file with a common hex editor but without an address file and the right program you will have no idea what values to edit. You'll just see a bunch of hex values.

@jmhalder: thanx for the example. i didnt see the file, os i wasnt logged in.
@ the rest: ok i think im starting to understand tunerpro. i guess i didnt do my reseach. i dindt know the adresses codes correspondent to the fueltables ect.

i tried to upload the PM7 binfile from a honda crx ecu, and the numbers all where wierd, and didnt make any sence. i think its because de example does nog have the rigt adresses.

ill go and chek the links you posted. thanx.

Re: looking for a Free ROM editor (VW BMW nissan mitsubishi ect..)

I posted up some info on a program I use for newer Mitsubishi's and Subaru's called EcuFlash...do a quick search in here and you'll find it. It works pretty much the same way as the other one mentioned though, you need to make a definition file for anything other than mitsu/subaru and I honestly don't think the actual programming software's code is open source just yet. You'd have a lot of disassembling ahead of you. Worth a shot though. :-\
