Pull plugs, looky looky. Get a very expensive digicam and dial the resolution all the way up and I can tell you everything.

$5 says it's ignition, not fuel.

"pretty rich" tells me less than you'd think it does, although it makes things sound more like an ignition problem. Still, that could mean nothing.

Either post the fullscreen pornographically large pictures of the plugs, or describe the ground strap, center electrode, ceramic, and well using the correct jargon.

Possible causes: Dead plugs, dead wires, bad coil, bad cap, general distributor fuckage.

I've also seen a funky main relay and bad engine grounds cause problems like these. In the case of the main relay, it started clicking wildly under load... but ran enough that the fuel pressure looked good. Soldering the big pins in the relay fixed that right up. Although I doubt it is the problem you're having.

The plugs are brand new gapped to .030"

Distributor worked mint n/a, starts everytime.

I did have a main relay problem but grabbed another one and havent had a starting problem since

I will go grab some pics of my plugs after a few minutes of idlig and post up my bin that its running on

Idled on plugs are worthless. You problems do not occur at idle. Why would I want to see that?

Well I just went out and I got the car to boost, used an older map I had. Only ran 3-4psi because the gauge was reading 16.5:1 or so

I killed the motor and coasted the 2 blocks home, pulled the plugs and was not surprised

My camera is uncapaable of taking pictures of the spark plugs, cant see anything

1-2-4 were basically pure white, a dull white with very little soot on the exterior of the arc that hangs over where the spark occurs

#3 Ive got a little valve seal leak and it wasnt AS white, but was white aside from being semi soaked in oil

Would you suggest switching map sensors.

I dont get how this could be cause by ignition problems though.

I'll post up my ignition tables in 2 seconds when i upload them

Misfires = lean wideband readings. What do widebands read in the exhaust stream? What is a misfire going to give a wideband more of to read? Nobody else answer this, please... it's his car, he needs to think all this through since he's the one that needs to fix it.

BTW, those weren't fresh plugs were they? Layers of ---- baked on from a variety of driving conditions show general trends over a long period of time, and not what happened during that one pull.

And you didn't tell me:

You never told me anything about heat marks, etc. Reading plugs is very tricky to nearly impossible to instruct you how to do online, since most good cameras take shitty closeup pictures in the required resolution. It's something that is best handed on firsthand.

This is all ASSuming ignition problems... fuel press gauge under the windshield wiper time pls kthx.

I suppose a misfire will give the wideband more time to read the oxygen being moved through the exhaust

I had a mrshall FP guage but it crapped out on me, so i swapped in a hydraulic gauge or something I had laying around 0-100psi, right on the fuel filter though, it stays pinned in the same spot and when I rev the motor, maybe 3500 via the t/b the gauge doesnt budge

Im going to see if I can get the car to run on a 2.5bar map sensor, could I not have a 3bar map sensor and would that cause it? or would the readings be ***** and the car not run all over the place?
