That price isn't great, IMO. You can get T61 with faster processors and the 15.4" widescreen in thr $750 range, then add in an ecoupon for 10% off and it's ~$80 more for a much faster machine after you figure in tax. Keep in mind you have to look at the LINUX laptops, and then you install XP over the Linux when you get it.

JD, the home machine I'm running right now is and old P4 2.4GHz with 2 GB of ram, XP home, I really don't need anything faster, it works perfect for me.

Graphics only need to handle downloaded TV show torrents and and old Blizzard game, Diablo 2 when bored.

Ocassional datalogging/tuning, GPS maps for courier work..........which also makes this a tax deduction :)

I use the kid's 866Mhz P3 most of the time. I have a 3.2 Ghz P4 box I was given but I'm too lazy to disconnect the defective case temp alarm, and I can't stand the incessant beeping while I use it.

IBM/Levono Thinkpad t30
Intel Pentium 4 M
Prosessor Speed 1.8 GHz
Memory RAM- 1GB
Hard Drive- 40

Got it for $250

Which was what I wanted to spend (for now) since I still need undersided on the wideband I will use with eCtune if eventually I go with that system.
