Default KDFI plug & play programmable ECU's?

Hi guys, I have a question about the KDFi ecu systems.
Anybody on here running one?

I own a Volkswagen Polo G40 (factory supercharged) with a GT2052S Turbocharger and some supporting go-fast parts. Running on the stock Digifant system with a chip.

Now I know KDFi gets burned to death on the Megasquirt forums, because it's basically an off-the-shelf MS2 sold under another name. But I wonder if their ''Plug and play'' ecu's are worth it.

They come in a digifant like case and they claim it just plugs in the factory wiring loom of the car. It is also claimed it has a basemap for my engine in stock form.

So it should be just plug it in, start up tunerstudio, start the engine and start driving & tuning from the basemap.

It sounds too good to be true for only 500 euro's. Isn't it?

Quote from the K-data site;

Features:

- full compatible to MSextra Software

- build your own setup

- MS2 onboard / Firmware MS2extra

- free Software / Open Source

- Fuel Table 16x16

- Ignition Table 12x12

- USB Conector

- Widebandlambdacontroller

- supports low impedance injectors

- supports stock idle valves

- user programable Relaisoutput

- electronical boost control

- Tacho output

- permanent Barometric correction prepared (option)

- supports CAN Bus
Opinions?

Now I know KDFi gets burned to death on the Megasquirt forums, because it's basically an off-the-shelf MS2 sold under another name.
More specifically, they ripped off the MegaSquirt schematics, used MegaSquirt firmware without licensing, and most of the people who've tried to get support through official MegaSquirt support channels imply that KDFI's tech support was not helping. They're mostly still in business because of how expensive it is to launch a lawsuit in a foreign country.

Thanks for your Reply Matt.

Yeah I've noticed the support is pretty awful from what I read.

Nothing against you or your products, but they do focus on the more popular tunable European cars with their Plug n play stuff.

I can't solder, I hate wiring and I never made a basemap/start up map out of nothing.
However I do have some experience with tuning VE tables and ignition tables. This is basically why KDFI got my interest.
