I was wondering if anyone knows how the Jackson Racing btc (boost timing control) compares to the msd btm. Does it work the same and could I use it to retard timing for my Honda just like the Btm?

Same ----. I know the Votech BTM is the exact same thing as the MSD. MSD made it for Vortech and Vortech just put there name on it. It still says MSD in small letters on it though. I would think the Jackson unit would be the same. If not I'm sure it does the same thing.

Cool, I might have one for dirt cheap thats why I ask. The only difference that I can see between the 2 is the Jackson Racing one doesn't double as an ignition upgrade. Ah well. Thanks for helping out.

The MSD also has the same thing. They have one that is an upgraded ignition and another that is just an add on timing retard.

Actually now I'm not even sure that I need a timing retard control. I'll be running 8 psi on a b18a. What do you think? Do I really need to retard timing that much?

I am running around 10 psi daily and I just retarded the timing at the distibutor. I don't have any detonation. I would think you are safe.

Thats kinda what I thought. I won't waste the money on a retard system unless I notice detonation then. Hope all goes well. haha, Thanks Dr. Boost.
