Well, you still need the wideband, but the WB doesnt see what the ECU sees, and thats all thats really matters, as the ECU is what is controlling the engine.

im not sure i understand completely, but it sounds to me that you're saying that datalogging from TE or uber has an advantage over wideband direct datalogging? is that true?

also, what are you gonna charge to install the cable into an ecu? i have a virgin pm6 for the crx and i was KINDA considering TE, but I may opt out and go odb1 uber.

datalogging straight from the ECU will always be more accurate. the wideband datalogger will take in a 0-5v signal and do an analog to digital (A/D) conversion to represent it in numbers you would normally read (psi, rpm, temp).

The ECU does the same thing really but its A/D conversions will be different than the widebands. The ECU uses what it sees to come up with the injector pulsewidth it fires into the engine and timing it fires at.

Always, if you can log from the ECU do it.

Honestly, datalogging is coming around with the help of ECU control for OBD0. However OBD1 does have widebane input and open loop tuning, which would be nice.

if you are staying non-vtec, stay obd0...if you have a vtec engine, its up to you

I took my 170-0787 and cut the end off and put a GM weather pack connector on. I install the other end on the ECUs I chip. That way I can connect and never have to lose my cable.
