Installed Uberdata Idle surge help!!!!
I just finished my turbo kit so I decided to start the car. I wanted to take it around the block w/ the wastegate unhooked to make sure the car was running right stock. With the uberdata in, it surges from 500 to 1200 rpm contantly. I hook my stock ecu back up and it'll idle fine. I'm using the stock p06 bin. on my d16y7 obd2b car. Everything seems fine. The only thing I can think of is the obd2b to obd1 harness is a obd2a to obd1. Anyone please chime in even if you have the slightest clue. I really wanna boost.

Re: Installed Uberdata Idle surge help!!!!
I have heard of people having the problem with the later versions of Uberdata. Try switching to an older version, I think that 1.6 was what one guy said he tried and it confirmed the idle was simply the program.
It could also be that OBDI cars have a FITV (fast idle thermal valve) and you do not.

Re: Installed Uberdata Idle surge help!!!!
actually your problem is your IACV. when going from obd2 to obd1 on that motor, you have to convert the IACV's from a 2 wire to a 3 wire, or a 3 wire to a 2 wire. can't remember exactly which one right now. but anyways, swap in a y8 intake manifold w/ the obd1 IACV and you'll be good to go. if you don't wanna swap em out, just block off the IACV w/ a piece of rubber, or a can or something.

sweet, i'll let you guys know how it'll work. I got a y8 manifold on the side but I gotta get a 2 wire iacv. I'll try unplugging it to see if it'll make a difference. What effects will blocking it off do? You guys are great. Very helpful.

Some variants of Ubercrap got a little janky with how they controlled the purge solenoid. Cold idle surging and intermittant surging once warmed up, similar to an improperly bled cooling system, occurs.
I just block off the purge solenoid from getting any vacuum - problem solved.

Re: Installed Uberdata Idle surge help!!!!
Yup yup, just block off the stupid IACV and be done with it. The car will idle rock solid + stocklike with no IACV, but sometimes you have to fiddle the air bleed and/or throttle stop to get it that way. LOTS easier than swapping IMs.
Can someone discribe where this is? or even better post a picture of it? my setup is a B16 swapped into a Civic EX, bastardized sensors (so I'm not sure if i've got an EX sensor, or a B16 sensor)...like I know for example that my MAP sensor is an EX, but I think most others that are ON the motor are the JDM ones.
Any help would be appreciated. Ben
