i have a pr4 and need sohc vtec maps, help please
hey guys, i swapped a 98 civic EX (d16y
motor into my 91 DX hatch. im running a earlier model teg ECU (pr4?) right now and i had a ZIF socket installed in it to accept burned chips. I really want the correct fuel and spark going to my motor. Is there a way I can get sohc vtec maps burned and have them work just fine in my ecu? i dont need vtec control just the fuel and ignition maps. can anyone burn these for me for a little cash?

You can put VTEC maps on any ECU. Since he's going to have external VTEC activation, it's probably some sort of RPM activated switch that will not base VTEC activation on load, TPS, or speed. So, you tune your maps as a "low cam" before your crossover RPM, and enrich your as a "high cam" above your crossover point. It's a very simple process..
Sinner,
Maybe he should conver to OBD1, and use Uberdata, since that seems to be the fix for everything with you.

motor into my 91 DX hatchNeither a pr4, p28 or otherwise will work for this motor.
90-91 pr4 are OBD0
92-93 pr4 are OBD1
p28s are odb1
There are not a lot of options that I know about for OBD2 ecu's unless you convert down to OBD1.

Hahahaha... you guys are over complicating this entire situation. :P
You can run Any D series, and most B series from any OBD0 ECU. The only thing you have to make sure you take care of is VTEC activation.
Otherwise, just put the maps from the original engine into the code of the new ECU. If the values are a different numeric, convert them. If the tables are different sizes, interpolate them.
C'mon guys... :P A PR4 will run a Y8 just as well as my PS9 will be running my LS/VTEC (minus the 7400+ RPM tuning scale).

yeah as you said i will be using external vtec activation with a vafc. i would convert to obd1 but the distributor mounts to the y8 incorrectly, only the obd2 and non obd distributors bolt up right and as you said converting to obd2 is an arm and a leg. its an obd0 pr4 from 91 teg and it has the socket soldered in to run off external EPROM chips. does anyone know where i can get p28 maps burned onto an eprom and if they will work in my ecu. not looking to activate vtec i just want the fuel and ignition maps. thanks.
