an smc (super map controller) takes the amount of voltage your map senor is making under a certain amount of air going through it and tells your ecu a lower or higher voltage. it make the map sensor lie to the ecu electronically. a missing link also lies to the ecu, but it's mechanical. so a missing link would do nothing more than lie to your smc which is already lieing to your ecu!!!! sounds like a scandal!

Yeah, that sounds about right.... I just installed my SMC into my Corolla, and it works great! Now all I need is the turbo back on it.... mmmmmm turbo....

 

Oh yeah, don't forget to retard your timing 7-10 degrees.... the SMC causes your engine to advance its own timing, and you have to compensate for that to avoid pinging.

 

yo fellas, i aint got no idea what exactly a SMC is but could u tell me where to get one, i mean i know what it stands for...and what it does, but i dont know what it looks like, dont know where to get one or even a price.
