How to tell if my ECU is fucked
I put a post up a few days ago about my AFC going defective on me but things are looking up as now I just got my new SAFC 2 in. I am about to put it in and just needed to know how to see if my ECU is fucked up. I don't want to throw another AFC up there just to find out that my ECU is the thing thats fucked up u know? Anything I should look for when I'm digging all around? And how do you tell what the code is when you have a CEL on?

Re:How to tell if my ECU is fucked
You can try reinstalling the stock injectors and unplugging the SAFC completely. Then see if the car starts and idles fine. or what codes you get from the ECU. If the CEL light doesn't blink or light up at all with the service jumper connected and the ignition turned on, you got a bad ECU.

one thing I just thought of... you didnt add resistors for the injectors did you? cause your car has peak & hold injectors stock, just like the DSM, so you dont need a resistor pack (it already has one) or inline resistors.
Im sure you already have that coverd... but its just something that occured to me, you never know!

Nope I sure didnt put resistors. Thanks for the help though. I'l be putting this new SAFC 2 in tonight so I hope everything turns out ok. Can I buy one of these things that tells me the code I'm throwing?

You don't need to buy anything to find out what code your getting. Just connect the service jumper under the passenger side dash and turn the ignition on, but don't start the engine. The Check Engine Light will blink what codes are stored.

Re:How to tell if my ECU is fucked
ok well I tried to install this new SAFC 2 I just bought and I got all the wires straight and everything and guess what. IT STILL DIDNT CUT ON!!! I'm thinking that even if my ecu could have gotten fucked up the AFC would still power up because it's hooked to a power wire that goes into the ECU. Isn't this right? Should I be tracking down power wires instead of messing with the ECU? I'm really thinking that the AFC would at least cut on no matter if the ECU is broken or not. You think that the car and everything won't start because the power wire going into the ecu is messed up?

LOL, Yes definiately do what Joseph Davis said first, cause I know I wired my S-AFC2 wrong the first time and I thought my S-AFC was dead cause it didn't turn on
You can also test the power wires to your ECU/S-AFC with a 12v bulb or something to make sure there is current going through the wires. Also don't forget to make sure the ECU and Radio Backup fuses aren't blown either!
