Hex to .Bin conversion
Ok i think i need ecu guru help on this one. I've got a 91 accord lx, its an obd1 motor and the ecu is called the pt3. Its come to my understanding that the ecu is not easily chipped but the maps can be extracted from the ecu. The only problem is that they come out in Hex file and i would need to know how to convert these values into something uberdata or crome could read as in a .bin file. I was wondering how all the guys did this for the civic and integra ecu's. Any help is appreciated.
Well, first off, any EEPROM burning software should be able to convert it for you.
Open the hex file in the burner like you were going to burn it, then doa "Save Buffer" or whatever command your software has and you should be able to choose .bin as an option.
Another one is the "hexbin.exe" program which you can find on PGMFI.org.
Now, the problem you have is that Uberdata, for sure, won't open it.
And Crome, well... who knows. I don't even pay attention to it anymore.
