wtf?? it should be at a4, period. whoever wired the car put the wire in the wrong spot, move it 2 pins to the left, done. btw, nothing should be at a8, unless your ecu is a jdm pr3, which is for a b16, so i doubt it is :P

sorry, i got lost in the mumbo jumbo where you mentioned it was in a7 as is. so move it down 1 and 2 to the left either way, put the ------- wire in a4, even if you move it 2 pins to the right, 1 pin down, 1 pin up, 3 pins to the left, 1 pin down, and 1 pin to the left, and do the hokey pokey, as long as it ends up in a4 somehow :P

Dude, just give up, and sell your car. This is obviously too much of an endevor for you.

Stop coming to this thread with virtually NO information!
Here is what we need to know:

What car do you drive? (Model, and designation)

What ECU are you using? (If you don't know, look at the damn sticker on the side of it)

Is there a wire connecting the VTEC Solenoid in the ECU to the engine bay? If so, where is it in the plug? (Noting that the Honda numbering system zig zags, even numbers on the bottom, odds on the top. 1, 3, 5, 7 so on is the number from right to left of the top row, 2,4,6,8 is the bottom..)

With this information, you'll get an accurate answer, I promise.
