HELP!! on Bosch FMU problems.
Last night I put on the Bosch rising rate fuel pressure regulator (msd part #2222) on my d15b2 for management in prparation for my turbo. It sounds like it's predetonating pretty bad even at idle. My air/fuel ratio gage says that it's a little leaner than with the stock regulator, but it still says that its stoich. There doesn't seem to be any problem with my vacume lines, so I'm really stumped. Would it be better to just run no management and keep it at like 3psi?! One of the HMT projects was Dan Thiessen's Rex with a d15b2 and the same management; did he have the same problems? Since the Bosch unit increaces flow upon boost, will it work just fine when the turbo is on and boosting? PLEASE HELP.

Re:HELP!! on Bosch FMU problems.
What is the ratio? How much boost were you running? You must have done something wrong. It will only increase fuel pressure when boost is introduced. If it is idling funny you probably unhooked a vac line or something.
P.S your A/F gauge is junk :P It's not accurate at all unless it's in open loop, than it's a bit more accurate, but still junk.

The turbo isn't on yet so there's no boost whatsoever. the gage is an autometer with 3 wires: power, ground, and one that's hooked into the O2 sensor. My vacume line seems fine, but if it increaces flow upon boost, then does it constrict flow upon vacume pressure? Could that be it?

Re:HELP!! on Bosch FMU problems.
If you have no boost than it shouldn't do anything. Something is either wrong with the install or the unit is bad.

Re:HELP!! on Bosch FMU problems.
Is there any way to see if the unit is bad? Is there any place that I can take it to for diagnoses?
p.s. I also have a greddy "black box". will this kind of management work with the stock injectors? should I just put back on the factory denso regulator and use the black box instead?

This FMU replaces the factory regulator?
You can use the Greddy box. I don't like them, but other people seem to do very well with them. The only problem is that you have no tuning abilities.

Re:HELP!! on Bosch FMU problems.
I took off my factory unit, and JB Welded in a brass fitting to hook up the in-line type regulator(the Bosch one). The factory one has a flange for fuel-in. Was I supposed to just keep the stock one on and use it's fuel return to go to the fuel-in on the Bosch unit? How bad did I screw up?
p.s. How much boost do you think is capable with the shitty DPFI and the black box?

Re:HELP!! on Bosch FMU problems.
You JB welded a brass fitting to your fuel rail and took your stock fuel pressure regulator off?
