having some trouble

my friend who is going to chip it said it isnt chippable. its a 91 pm6. i dont understand how it cant be...any help? |

I don't know how to answer that, but the PM6 is chip compatable. It's one of the more common OBD0 ecu's to chip.

yea im not sure how this happened. the ecu says 91 on it and it doesnt have the damn eprom. im annoyed. anyone got one or know where i can find one?

don't quote me on this but don't you have to desolder the existing chip on the board and solder in a socket in its place on a OB0 ???

mahcivic,
Take the top off of the ECU, and look at the A plug socket (It's the big green one). There is a sticker on top of that too. ...does it say PM7 instead of PM6? Also, take the bottom cover off, and try to take a couple of the 9 screws out that hold the board to the case. If they break loose easy, someone swapped boards on you. If the board has never been removed from the case, the glue will still be attached to the screws, and it will take a little effort to get them to break loose. |
