Default Got oil on wideband sensor!! Is it junk now?

Well messing around with my car and loaded a file that was screwed and was only making spark on 2 cylinders. Well 1000cc injectors and two dead cylinder not to mention all the other crap I have done made the oil a bit thin. lol And then the turbo started to puke oil out the hotside. Now the o2 is acting funky. Can these be cleaned or is it trash can time. It's an innovate lc-1.

btw, fresh oil cured the oil problem.

Thanks
Randy

Spray some degreaser on there but don't let it sit long, just spray it on there and take some compressed air to push the grime and cleaner away. Repeat as necessary.

I have done it more than a couple times and never had any problems.

Burn all the oil off I have had cleaners kill o2 sensers. It could just be trash now you cant brake something that is already broken.

Don't try burning the oil off, it will coke on the sensor. You can use "lectra clean", or any other electronics cleaner. It doesn't have any petroleum , or silicon in it, and it evaporates clean.

nOOB gets 10points because his is the correct answer. IF the sensor isnt already dead, and the heater element isnt shorted, and the nerst pump isnt coated, then electrical parts cleaner is your friend.

Petroleum based solvents and brake cleaner will kill the nerst pump in the sensor. (this happens over time anyway, but faster with solvents)

Otherwise bosch widebands are like $50. :P
