Default GM 3bar map sensor questions

So i got a gm 3bar for free at work and i was wanting to know if i could put it on before i boost, has anyone run it while NA? also someone explain to me what this does for you. what are the advantages of it? and does it have to be out of a specific vehicle/engine, i pulled mine from a chevy 350.

thanks

It allows you to boost higher than 10.5 psi and still let your ECU know it.

Basically, it allows you to boost higher than the stock honda MAP will read.

You don't get GM 3 bars off of Chevy 350's. They only came on one very very rare 1989 Pontiac. You sure you have a GM 3 bar?

You can't do that without rescaling your entire fuel and ignition map for different resolution. The MAP voltage points are very different. In fact, you'll run WAAAAAAY lean going from a 1bar to a 3bar.. yes, even NA.

i doubt it. look at the part numbers. most of them look the same anyways. the map sensor on my old sunfire looks like a 3 bar...

Generic housing - what is inside is what counts.

If OEM, I believe the 3 bar has a pink dot of paint, the 2 bar MAP gets a greem spot, and the regular 1 bar gets a white spot. I could very well have the color codes all wrong, I have been drinking that Tussin DM like it's going out of style.
