Default Fuel Pressure Dampner

There is a fuel pressure dampner on the fuel rail on my D16a6 that is missing the little bolt in the middle of it and the plastic cover. My question is, is what does that little bolt screwed into the dampner do? Will it be ok without it? Any and all replies are appreciated.
