Default fried vafc and ecu

hello im new hear and was wondering if this site could help me out with my vafc problem, i hooked up the possitve and negative wires on my vafc and turned my ignition halfway( like a dumbass)to see if the lights would come on and see if it work, well in doing this i fried my ecu on my car and had to buy a new on, so now im affraid to try and hook up the vafc, because i dont know if it got fried and will ruin my ecu.. anyone have any ideas on what i can do? please help this noob on this site.

You can do this as a test. Unplug the ecu. Wire in the VAFC, you can do just the power and the grounds. Turn the ignition "on", don't crank the engine. The unit should power up if it is operational.

the grounds on the afc are extremely important, since there are two and they are expected to be wired a specific way. disconnect the neg. battery cable and fully wire the afc properly. always fuse your power wires (better safe thatn sorry) and make sure all connections are good. You really shouldnt any problems, its a pretty simple straight forward installation.
