finally boosted again but i have big problems
the car at first idled like a cam'd v8 so i adjusted the fuel pressure and got it back to normal...but now the car won't rev past 4k rpms...and if i take it to 4k rpms it back fires real bad and won't go any higher. it's a b18b with a t3/t4 57trim, dsm blue top injectors and a base map off of xenocrons website. slos13 burned the chip for me and b16crxt chipped it for me. i tried adjusting the fuel pressure more and the idle control screw and nothing worked

Re: finally boosted again but i have big problems
this is the map
B18b, P75, 450's, T3/T4 hybrid, Closed loop is enabled, 2.5" crappy exhaust, intercooled, dyno'd at 213 and 200ft.lbs. at 9-10 psi. This is slightly tuned with much room for improvement. |
Re: finally boosted again but i have big problems
no suggestions?
|
Re: finally boosted again but i have big problems
Check the distributor.. like a coil or ignitor failure if you have no cels.

Re: finally boosted again but i have big problems
think it could have anything to do with my stock map? if its detecting boost won't it run like this?
|
Re: finally boosted again but i have big problems
Are you using anything to monitor A/F? |
Re: finally boosted again but i have big problems
i would say that maybe the basemap is just not running right with your setup. you might need to re-adjust the tune to your setup then go from there....not every car is the same. hell i had a basemap in my car that ran fine....then when i built my motor i had to get a new tune cuz it was falling on its face when boosts came in

Re: finally boosted again but i have big problems
Make sure the jumper is connected so your ecu is reading off your chip, you are having the same sympotms as me. I was puzzled and kicked myself after I realized I was still running off the stock map.

Id say check your plug gap to. it could be blowing out the spark. |
Re: finally boosted again but i have big problems
Sounds like a boost leak! to much fuel for a small quantity of air until you solve the leak.

Re: finally boosted again but i have big problems
ok i started the car yesterday and got a steady CEL...but it wouldn't let me check the CEL by flashing it...so i called a friend of mine and he said it was because of the ecu...so i unchipped and cut the bridge on J1 then turned the key and i got a 41 out of it. thats the only code it was throwing. i had to get the car back to the house so i started it and lowered the fuel pressure and drove it to my cousins...i took it to 5500 revving it just to see if it would break up and it didn't...the whole way driving it i didn't take it higher than 3k rpms then i looked at my boost gauge and it read 5psi. the weird thing is the car ran good lol...but its parked until i can get it tuned. if jd can;t see me soon i got a connection with RLZ and they said they would dyno tune it on crome for 250 dollars. so we'll see what happens

Re: finally boosted again but i have big problems
damn 250. everyone around here wants 500 to tune my car.

Sounds like you had ecu problems from the beginning. 4K rpms is not some random number. :1 <had to add this |
Re: finally boosted again but i have big problems
thats exactly what my car is doing. solid cel and breaks up at 4k. the weird thing is i ran my computer in my brothers car with a stock p28 map burned into it with a low rev limit and it worked? so should i check my soldering too?
sorry to butt in on ur thread bossman... |
Re: finally boosted again but i have big problems
if ur getting a solid CEL its most likely the bin or chipping of the ecu, but what i would do is make a new base map, its not hard at all. Also get a wideband to monitor ur a/f
