extra injector
hey hey
was wondering if many people on this site have run an extra injector in cooler piping (10cm before throttle) and had any success? didn't notice anything mentioned in FAQ's thanks eddie |
Re:extra injector
What would you use to control it?
None of the EM systems out there that use honda ECUs have provisions for an extra injector and thats what most people use here. Im guessing with Megasquirt (or any of the other many standalone systems) you could use one of their extra injector drivers to do it. |
Re:extra injector
Turboedit and Uberdata both offer something that is superior to the extra injector method. I think you would be better to just run larger injectors and one of the above mentioned EM.

Re:extra injector
is there not an additional injector controll module you can use to controll it with your stock ecu? i havent researched it, but i thought it could be done along side the stock ecu?

Re:extra injector
Yes you can...but they are like $200-600. I think it was the Greddy CDI or something like that I saw once posted on here.

Re:extra injector
MF2, 034 EIC, HKS AIC, Megasquirt, Powerlink 200, SDS EIC, There are a number of extra injector controllers available. You need to research and see which one fits your needs (and budget). And if it's better suited to your needs than any of the other methods available to you. (Uber, etc...)

Re:extra injector
yep i was planning on using it with stock ecu, and seperate standalone controller
i have seen it done before, but never heard any feed back about it also, how far do people advance there timing on turboing n/a 1.6L non vtec eddie |
Re:extra injector
i've been running an SDS EIC two injector controller for two years now on my d16a1 with ZC TB. I am having issues with flooding with the dual butterfly TB because the lower and larger one will stay closed when the smaller one is open. The gas pools and floods cylinder #1. Other than that I've no other issues with it and seem to like it. I bought it for $500 and I thought it was money well spent, although now I'm going the vafc and 450 route.

Re:extra injector
You could add extra injectors drivers to the stock ecu, and play around with some code. But my friend used a rebic for years.

Re:extra injector
you guys are over complicating it. the best way to do it is get a cold start injector, a pressure switch from napa and go at it. set the pressure switch so it turns on at 1psi or whatever. If you need more fuel, add another injector. If you get a adjustable fuel pressure regulator for them you can tailor it. you can add more pressure switchs set to turn on at different psi and more cold start injectors with different flows at different fuel pressures to get the perfect combinations. add a check valve to the map sensor and you are done. 8)
ofcourse there are way better low dollar setups availbe for hondas. ;) |
