Alright well I found a junkyard and found an eld, paid the guy like 20 bucks for both fuse boxes, under dash and under hood cause I wasn't real sure where the actual ELD was. got it home and swaped the eld shown here.


and I still have a disco show. Im still thrown a CEL same as before and when we scan it, still says ELD. Are there any Honda Techs here who might have access to a manula or something? I need to know how I can test this thing, if its bad I want to take it back or try to get my money. Maybe someone might have a fusebox laying around somewhere that has an ELD in it? This thing is kicking my ***!

 

so you short out the harness THEN you blame it on the msd. wow, congrats on installing elctrical stuff with full battery power! i hope you become the mechanic that works on my car

edit: get a new alternator.

If you tried reading you would see I had the ------- alt check captian **** gobbler. and thanks for your super educated assumption that I installed MSD ingition with battery power still hooked up. Are you ------- serious? really? I shorted a wire on the O2 sensor try to get the plug back into the under body of the car. Not by slpicing into live wires while tryint to install MSD. Do you even know how thats done? Im just wondering why the hell you would assume that? I am not blaming the MSD as in its a piece of ----, I think I might have fucked something up while putting it in.

fuckstick i was referring to your o2 installation. shorting your HARNESS and possibly ruining something between the ecu and alt/o2 and not looking for it won't solve the problem.

 

does it strobe only when running?

 

if i was you id start putting my car back to stock, then checking all wires grounds and start replacing ---- like the ecu and altenator, fuse boxes etc

 

it sounded like a voltage regulator or alt shorting out somewhere.

 

Im still have a hard time finding out any info on the ELD and what it does but I think it it is sort of like a voltage regulator. The reason I dont want to put it back to stock is cause I know that simply running MSD did not cause this issue. The scanner is throwing the ELD coed along with an O2 sensor code but If you see an ELD code you will also see one of the O2 codes. I did ---- up the wire on the O2 Complex and I have checked it like 3 times after I fixed it but maybe its worth another look.

It strobes while idle sometimes too, but after its warm. If you jump in it first thing it will idle fine then once you take the car over 2k, it strobes. *** the car warms up after about 15 minutes or so of drivinig, the next time I stop and take the car past 2k it will mellow out. When I had the Alt checked it was strobing at the very moment they were testing and it came out good so.

I dont even know how the hell you would test somthing like the ELD. I want to put a voltmeter to it and see if I have any thing coming our but I cant see how you could get something up into the clip.
