i hve one 98 lx also i have ex 00 with y8 engine i can use the same computer ?
its differents connectors?
i try the lx ecu in ex 00 i have problems when i connect back the 98 lx computer i dont kno why

somebody have experience with odbII eCUS?

2 different generations of obd2. 96-98 is obd2a and 99-00 is obd2b.

2a uses plugs a,b,d
2b uses plugs a,b,c

the two won't work interchangeably.

 

i'm a noob, so smoke me just for kicks i can take it. i've got a 98 d16y8. threw in a gsr ecu others tell me that at wot it'll run rich and suck. but i haven't had any problems with gas mileage and engine performance is still kicking strong. will i need to upgrade my ecu when i boost? chipping isn't an option for obd2 right?

 

Not really, there are those who can do it...but its not cost effective at this point.

 

alright, so a DOHC ecu won't affect a SOHC engine? AFC hacking seems to be my best option then...

 

if you want to do it right you buy an Obd2-->1 conversion harness and run an obd1 ecu with uberdata or crome
