ecu info***update***XENOCRON CHECK IN!!!!
im getting a pr5 ecu from nicko360 and i cant find crap for info on it. i know where it comes from and what not. what i want to know is what the redline is on this thing. as lond as its higher than the 6200 im at now the better. i can run these long ass gears out a bit more.
***UPDATE AS FOLLOWS*** well i was able to turn it into a manual ecu by following the pm7 auto to manual guide. xenocron it did work. runs like a champ. and i love the 6800 rpm rev limiter. |
Re: ecu info
sohc zc
6800 rev if memory serves me right its been like 10 years since I owned one of those |
Re: ecu info
if its 6800 then cool. im sure the 600rpm more will make a difference. heres a better question for you then....which should i chip? my current pm6 or the pr5?

whatever one has a 28 eprom chip |
Re: ecu info
i think they both do have the 28 e-prom chip. ill find out when i get the other ecu if it does or not. i hope it does, weather or not if the pm6 does then its getting chipped. if both are not a 28 pin socket then ill be pissed :7

Re: ecu info
Honda Civic 88-91 MPFI (Multi Point Fuel Injection) * The 88-89 MPFI ECUs (PM6-A080, is one example of the ECU code from these computers) for all intensive purposes are NOT chippable ECUs...they can however be equipped with a daughterboard that allows them to use a chip * The 90-91 MPFI ECUs (PM6-A09, PS9-A09….examples) are equipped from the factory with a soldered in Eprom chip, that can be desoldered and removed and replaced with an eprom socket. From here these ECUs can be easily tuned with the proper equipment. Because these are already MPFI from the factory, these vehicle can easily run an OBD1 ECU with an OBD0 to OBD1 ECU Conversion Harness making it even more versatile. Straight from Chris's site your code seems similar to the 88-89 example...but he would know better, weird that you got it out of a 90 CRX Si...guess it could have been swapped!? |

Re: ecu info
plenty of pr4/pm6 ecu's for cheap with 28 pin proms in them

Re: ecu info
any deals coming for your site on ecu's? looks like im gonna need one.

Re: ecu info
ok well the ecu i guess is a auto pr5. ive seen some ways to convert ecus from and auto to a manual, but not specifically for the pr5. xeno, any clue?
found that pgmfi.org has a page, but the cache doesnt go that far :3 crap :7 also found this page. http://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1275452&page=1 i know, its honda-tech...........but its a resource. i just found this pic and was wondering if it will work. the ecu looks exactly like this one. only difference is that ecu is a pm7 and mines the pr5. same difference correct? http://mycomputerninja.com/~jon/www....toTOmanual.jpg |

28 pins, yes.
carefully remove that 28 pin chip and solder in a DIP socket in its place |

Re: ecu info***update***XENOCRON CHECK IN!!!!
cool looks like i wont have to buy me an ecu after all. looks like ill toss my pm6 back in and ship this one and probably put a better map on it.
