ECU Identification

Well I suggest that we put up know ecu's and what they came in , their name, and what they can be used in. I would like a sticky for this. It's two confusing and it takes to long to get answers from people. I think this would make this simple. Thanks guys.

P28- 92-95 Civic Ex with VTEC Use for OBD0 to Obd1 conversions
or OBD2 to OBD1 conversions. Use UberData for tuning.
Can Datalog

PO5- 92-95 Civic Cx NO VTEC Never use this ecu unless you want great fuel milage. I have chipped one and it doesn't work. Use nothing for tuning. Throw away.
this is why I made this thread.

PR4- Not sure But I think that it came out of an 89-90 Integra. Use for stock CRX or Integra. Use Turboedit or Chrome for tuning. Let me know on this one. Can datalog.

PM6- 90-91 CRX Si or Civic Si. Tune with Turboedit or Chrome. Can Datalog

Post up more of your own. These are the ones I know of. Thanks Guys and Gals.

Re:ECU Identification

dont the 90-91 crx/civic si have a pm6 ecu? ???

tranceminister 11-28-2004 12:26 PM

Re:ECU Identification

Hmmm, could be useful info for some people. What do you think Jason? Xeno? Make it a sticky?

surfer 11-28-2004 12:52 PM

Re:ECU Identification

all this information is easily found with 5mins on Google or a quick trip to PGMFi

tranceminister 11-28-2004 12:58 PM

Re:ECU Identification

Very true, however why not add it to the first place a person inquestion would come and add it to the top of this page, Making it as simple as possible.

surfer 11-28-2004 02:22 PM

Re:ECU Identification

If it is clear and concise then it would be a good addition to this forum, but you see so much that is just garbage and it just confuses people more than they already are.

tranceminister 11-28-2004 02:30 PM

Re:ECU Identification

Yep, a nice clean/clear understanding of what ecu's came out of what cars would be great.

crxrx7 11-28-2004 04:58 PM

Re:ECU Identification

Is my post not clear enough or must I do it over. I think I have done a good job of what I have posted so far. I have the name and what year and model it came out of and what you can use it for and what you can do to it. I think that if people post up what they know I will add it to the the bottom of my first post so it is very easy to see what you are dealing with. Hows that.

Re:ECU Identification

Keep making it clear and concise...I'll add it to the FAQ once it grows.

(OBD0) PR4, 90-91 Integra
- A01, A02 (External PA sensor), most 90 manual tegs
- A10 (Internal PA Sensor), most 91 manual tegs

(OBD0) - PM6, NO external eprom, 88-89 CRX manual
(OBD0) - PM6, external eprom, 90-91 CRX Si manual
(OBD0) - PS9, 90-91 EX automatic (all external eprom type)
(OBD0) - PM7, DOHC ZC engine, dont know what car

OBD1
- p28
- pr4
- p05
- p06
- p72
- p30

crxrx7 11-29-2004 10:21 PM

Re:ECU Identification

I would think that on the OBD1 you should let them know what car they came out of and if you can chip them. Another word make it so newbs know what the hell is going on.

All OBD1 ECUs can be chipped.

External Eprom OBD0 ECUs can be chipped.

I plan to add that eventually...but that would just be too easy for you noobs :)
