Default ecu ?

A freind of mine has a 97 dx hatch with obd2a-obd1 conversion the problem is when a chipped ecu is connected the car falls on its face but with an oem ecu it works fine. setup is b16a2 w/ HX harness. 3 ecu's have been tried and all work perfect in other cars.

1) You might not have an actual OBD2A conversion harness.

2) You have an OBD2B engine harness.

I thought you meant an OBD2 ecu works fine.

SO what your saying is you have 1)a chipped ecu and 2)some unchipped ecus.

#1 works in other cars but not this one?

#2 works in other cars and this one?
