Im not sure a stock LS chip will run in a PM6.

You can always throw stock LS maps in a stock PM6 rom though. Although it might run differently...

when you say pm6 rom that means chip right? (new to the engine control terminology). and what do you chage for pm6 rom w/ ls stock maps?

The 'ROM' is the code that runs the ECU. The maps are inside of the ROM.

The is a STOCK PM6 rom (PR4, PM7...etc). Each version of code was designed to run on its specific ECU, therefore you cant just throw a PR4 ROM into a PM6 ECU and expect it to run correctly.

What you can do is take the PM6 ROM that was meant to run in a PM6 and put PR4 MAPs into that ROM...although it might run a little differently because you have a different ECU controlling your engine.

My philosophy, is that its always best to use the ECU that came in your car originally (if possible) and modify that to fit your needs.

ok i have a chipped PM6, i want to run my LS w/ that ECU
so i need to import the PR4 maps into the PM6 rom, correct?

basically yeah...but it seems these ECU run maps a tad differently on different motors

For example...I tuned my old setup (B18a turbo) using a PM6 ECU and NG28 Code (old old code) and then I retuned it using a PR4 ECU and the same NG28 Code. The maps when done were very different. If I took the maps I tuned on the PM6 and threw the same exact chip in the PR4, it ran about .8 AFRs richer throughout the entire map.

i dont know why, just be careful

Stock code MAY NOT do what i just described - it may work perfect

it may be a characteristic of the code, it may be a characteristic of the ECU...i dont know

Looks like you have tested both pr4 and pm6 on a ls motor. Is one runing better than the other after tuning. I got both ecus but I was thinking about getting ride of one, but also thinking about doing a ls swap later on.
