Default E85 in a street bike?

anyone ever heard of this ? i guess FI and high compression motors love e85 and my bike is 12.0:1 i was thinking about putting a little in but i dont wana f it up cause it only has like 5500 miles on it

can you play with ignition timing?

My 14:1 D15 will run ONLY E85 from a drum, not pump.

I like how bone has a 14:1 D15. It just makes me fuzzy inside.
Is the stoich of E85 the same as gasoline? I also thought that the octane of the pump E85 varies alot, like a pretty big range 5-10 oct pt's. Sponsership sounds sweet.

e85 is approximately 11:1 stoich compared to gas at approximately 14.7:1...

You know that E85 has less energy per volume than gasoline, right?
Unless your bike is pinging on whatever octane pump gas, there really isn't any advantage to running something with more octane.

As mentioned - E85 is going to require a different mixture... Don't do it unless you can retune your EFI or you buy a vehicle that's setup to run it.

Want to try high test fuel? Use toluene as an additive or buy some race gas. You'll actually make less power unless you can tune for the higher octane.

E85 will make more torque than gasoline will, especially with the high compression. Its not just about the octane rating. It would make the bike more interesting to ride around town I think. Its questionable if the stock injectors will flow enough. The only thing I wouldn't like is the lack of range due to the increased consumption and the tiny tank.

Stoich on E85 is ~9.7:1 not ~11:1

E85 *could* make more torque than gas would, but you'd have to bump the compression and/or timing to get that torque increase.
On a stock bike, even high compression, if it runs on pump gas in that config, E85 won't do a thing for you.

IE - on the same motor, same tune, otherwise runs fine on gas, don't use E85.

That is obvious, we are talking about retuning for E85. If you don't the bike or whatever else you run on E85 won't run well, if at all. A/f must be retuned but it is possible to gain torque without timing adjustments. The overall timing required between the two is similar, as long as the engine wasn't knock limited on gasoline.
