Doofnoil's Education Post.

where can I find a stock pm6 rom? I'm just learning this whole TE thing and need seomthing to fiddle around with. Also, I downloaded a bin file from pgmfi and it says that it's "unsupported" by TE, is there some way to convert the files?

I also downloaded the PGMFI-NG26.bin and turned off the vtec engage, does that turn it back to a stock pm6 rom?

Re:where to find roms?

PGMFI-NG26.bin is the feature-filled ROM.

Stock ROMs can be found on PGMFI.org's Wiki.

Re:where to find roms?

yeah but it says that the rom is "incompatable" with turbo edit whenever I try to open it.

I got this:PM6-A09-65.bin
From here:http://www.pgmfi.org/twiki/bin/view/...efinitionCodes

and it says this: "this is not a TurboEdit compatable ROM!"

wtf

Re:where to find roms?

Probably because of the file size. It needs to be a 32K ROM...

Fill in the rest of it with 0x00 bytes and it'll work fine.

Re:where to find roms?

okay...how do i go about this?

Re:where to find roms?

Open the ROM in WinHex (or equiv) and paste in 00 bytes at the end until the file size is 32768, or the last address int eh file is 7FFF.

Re:where to find roms?

okay now for my next question, how do I add all the little features like the ones that are on the PGMFI-NG26.bin ?
like boost management/launch control etc.

Re:where to find roms?

Hahahah.. you don't.

You run PM6 maps on the NG26 code.

1) Open that Stock PM6.bin you fixed, and right click ont he tables, choose Map Import/Export and export the maps to a file.

2) Open the PGMFI-NG26 code, go to ROM properties, and on the upper left corner, under the "View Addresses" button, click Naturally Aspirated (Single Map), and click OK.

3) Now right click on the tables, choose Map Import/Export, and click Import. Find the file you previously exported, and click Open. Then click Import.

All done.

alright that's what I'm made so far for a base map running:

d15 nonvtec pushing 8psi with 450's.

Basically imported stock pm6 .bin, switched back to the dual maps, turned vtec off, clicked the 450cc injector button and did a linear -1.0 degree of retard/#boost...

Two Questions:

#1 It can't be that easy?!

#2 What's the difference between stepped boost retarding and linear boost retarding?

thanks yet again man...

This is quite an interesting topic, I will help you figure it out, the fact is that I have been working in the field of education for a long time and can help in writing research papers, this is one of the types of work for the university.
