The ELD went bad in my car and I am having some surging now when its cold. It runs great when its cold but I don't get a spedo, after a while it warms up, starts running rich as hell and I get my spedo back. My question is, if I get the ELD option turned off, will the lights and everything still surge? I am basicly trying to figure out if I need to go find a damn ELD to make my lights stop surging or can I just disable it and solve the surge problem there.

 

What I am asking is if it will just turn off the CEL or will it fix my surging. The cars runs like poop with it broken.

 

Maybe your alternator is on its way out?
