Diagnosing CEL 9 CYP? FIXED!
OK, I changed my D16Y7 engine out in my 96 civic. I changed the intake manifold to a Y8 mani, installed a timing belt and tensioner, new stage II clutch AND made a turbo kit for it. It fired right up. I drove it around the block and got a #9 CEL. So, the crank sensor is plugged in. How should I go about diagnosing this so I dont pull the timing covers and find out the issue is the conversion harness? Can I ohm it out or something along those lines or should I just pull the motor apart and use another snesor?
Thanks

Re: Diagnosing CEL 9 CYP?
Yes but I was told after converting to OBDI that isnt used anymore and its just the distro that is in control. CoreyR just told me he once had a bad ecu and it threw 9. He changed it and it was fine. Im getting frustrated.

Re: Diagnosing CEL 9 CYP?
Its one of those boards that sticks up horizontal in the ECU if it is the ECU that is the problem...if you have any bunk ECUs around, try desoldering those boards (one at a time) and see if that works...
