Default Dataloging Problems

Ok so i need sme help here. My p28 ecu was socketed and had a dataloging cable when i got it. i plugged in my ostrich and it works great. when i try to datalog i got nothing. So today i opened it up and looked inside. i found J12 not cut so i cut it. Now i am able to datalog for about 15-20 seconds. then the program freezes and thats it. i have tried ecu controll and freelog. freelog does not work at all. i didnt install the datalog cable so i dont know if it is done right. i am guessing that it is since the socketing was done corectly. i have no idea what cable it is and what serial to usb converter it is. im thinking i may need to get a different cable. i am using the standard nokia usb drivers. anypne have any ideas?

I tried a couple of cheap ebay, and radio shack cables, none of which I could get to work, I just bought the serial cable from xenocron and it works great, i love it. I dont know why it would work then freeze after 20 seconds, thats fucked up. Ive been using ecucontrol, cut j12, with no problems.
