Crome / uberdata obd1 chipped ecu users stop in!!
Hello to all and thanks for looking.
As many of you might know (or most likely not :P) I've been around here for a long time and like 99% of us did a nice custom setup on my 95civ. It's been running all well and good aside from the normal bullshit, 10psi on the hack for 11k miles now.
The real question is, I'm looking for somthing more; the next step-- So how many of you are running around with self-chipped ecu's with success? I'm tired of pinging in my midrange when I try to run anything less than like 8 degrees retard on the dizzy; I know the d can't take too much of that. I'm looking to get the most I can out of my setup (like most of us) and I'm just wondering not only how many of you have already done it, but how hard it was?
I've opened crome + uberdata, opened up a p28 bin, added boost tables, adjusted for 120% efficiency like I read, scaled for 450s (dsms)... Is that really all there is to it? Burn it, chip it, and it runs good?
Will the above mods to a chip produce a setup as reliable and user friendly (or more!) than the afc hack i've been using for so long? I understand that the above settings are just a basemap, but then again, so is -38 across the board on the afc, and that's been working great.
I think you all know what I mean, so let the feedback flow... Whose done it, how easy was it, and how she runnin'!?
