Closed loop vs open loop problems
Walter, I know, but this is just a shitting backup plan or when it gets real hot. 50 degrees outside temp racing on a frozen lake equals big problems. I will be running this setup also during hot spring like weather. Cold water+hot turbo manifold=cracks :P

The problem is that most people don't realize that proper operating temp is both the coolant and the oil temperatures.
I wait until the oil pressure is low. About 16-20 psi at idle.

I know brake rotors in a road race car can crack if they get hit with cold water. They also never crack on the track, just when they cool off. I haven't had anything good come from wet weather racing. I had to drive about an hour stuck at WOT, because of a throttle cable issue. Randy
