Re: Chipped P28 throwing code 20 'Electrical Load Detector'

Update on CEL. So I went to my friend's house and hooked my GSR to a snap obd1/2 reader. The reader was unable to read the chipped p28 and kept repeating 'no communication'. Plugged in a stock p72(gsr) and the reader worked fine and displayed 'no codes'. Then, I plugged in a non-chipped stock p28 and reader displayed code 20 ELD(electrical load detector). The reader said it was a 3 pin connector located in the underhood relay/fuse box, but I could not locate it. So I've proven that its not my chipped p28 that is causing the CEL because the stock p28 acts the same. My question now is: what makes the p28 not compatable with the GSR? And for all of you that think a p28 works on a gsr fine, keep in mind that you can have this code and NOT have a CEL. When I put the stock p28 in and started the car it ran without a CEL, but the snap-on reader was able to detect it. My guess is that an OBD1 civic either runs a different electrical load or has a sensor that the GSR doesn't have. Does anyone know what exactly this code is? Is there a specific sensor on a GSR or civic for this?

ELD has nothing to do with the motor and everything to do with the car.

ELD is in the car, behind the fuse box like you mentioned.

If it is causing you issues, just disable it in the chipped ECU.
