Chipped P28 throwing code 20 'Electrical Load Detector'
 

I chipped my p28 and put an uberdata burnt chip in it. I put the ecu in my gsr and started it up. It runs for like 3-5seconds and then throws a CEL. checked the code and got 20; Electrical Load Detector. The car runs fine and the code doesn't seem to effect the motor. Has anyone had this problem before? or know what it means? Did I put the chip set in wrong? Am I burning the chips wrong? Are there tests I can do to check? Any help would be great.

i got that code once before too, replaced my dizzy and redid a few grounds and it was gone... i doubt the dizzy had anything to do with it though

i'd suggest double checking your grounds and going from there

I doubt you have a CEL 20. Recheck the codes, look closely.

The CEL blinks two times and they seem long, not short. The code is either code 2 or code 20. I'm assuming it has to do with my chipped p28 because the CEL goes away when I put the stock p72 back in. If it is code 2(o2 b sensor) can my p28 be picking up something that my p72 doesn't? What is code 20 usually caused from?

Check codes after dark, or in a dark garage. Look closely. Some of the ECUs blink single digits really really really quickly. I doubt you are throwing a CEL 20 with a chipped ECU and not a stocker... I could be wrong, but you need to verify that before we go any further.

I chipped it myself so that might be the problem, but this isn't my first one. I've never had problems before. I'll go back and check the code at night and see if I missed a blink or two. Plus, my friend has a code reader that reads obd1 codes so I'll probably go over there tomorrow and check it out for sure.

I doubt you have a chipping problem if the chipped code comes online and spits out CELs. You probably have an issue with your code, and are flashing a VTEC code for various reasons and just missing the short blinks.
