Re:chip burning problem

make sure you get the newest version of the software for the willem. I tryed burning chips on the older versions and none of them worked except for the new one.

Re:chip burning problem

Also try erasing the chip (if an eprom) an/or try using another eprom. I've had some faulty eproms give me programming errors etc., but others work fine.

Im successfully burning with my Willems this is what i've found to help:

Make sure you jump 3&31 for 29c chips
Use Ver 97g of the software
Turn off virus ----
Disconnect from the internet (i've found that mine wont burn if i'm online)

Re:chip burning problem

on this zif socket, pin 3 is the third down from the top on the left side, pin 31 is the second pin down from the top on the right side. Just put a piece of wire connecting them.

Re:chip burning problem

this may be a moot point, but blundar once mentioned that his was very sensitive to power supply voltage. i believe he said it only started working reliably at 24v input. i made a 24v power supply before i'd ever even used mine. i've been using it a while now and i've never once had an error. might be worth a try.
oh yeah, i'm also using the 97g software.

Re:chip burning problem

im only using 12v power and it works
I have ver 97g at home (not home now) and I can email it to you (well mabye, depends on size)
Check their webpage they should have an archive there
willems.org or something

Re:chip burning problem

ok i downloaded the new software;i only thought the power supply had to be 9v 300ma;so i can hook up a 12 power supply

T-RO 05-16-2004 10:19 AM

Re:chip burning problem

yeah it should be 12v 800ma IIRC
