Re: Car wont rev past 3000 Help.
i dont know much about the wiring on a single cam engine but i know that when you install a harness or reinstall your old one, the clips only fit where they are supposed to go except on the throttle body (b series). The TPS and another one can interchange (iac?).If they're crossed then i know from experiance that it will only rev to 3000 then it will die.

iac is on the back of the intake right?

Re: Car wont rev past 3000 Help.
Yeah, but it uses a completely different plug(on OBD0 and OBD1 anyways). I think OBD2 has a 3 wire IAC?

Re: Car wont rev past 3000 Help.
1. u need to fix the problem causing ur check engine light
2. like boost said u need to have around -20 at idle(vac), if u only have -2 u have a leak somewhere, that should be a big leak tho :o |
Re: Car wont rev past 3000 Help.

Re: Car wont rev past 3000 Help.
i think look at the led light on your ecu, count how many times it blinks, once you do that let us know the number of times it blinked and we can go from there

Re: Car wont rev past 3000 Help.
are you running a greddy BOV? if you are check the adjustment screw, it probably broke and blew right out!

Re: Car wont rev past 3000 Help.
OMG....what terrible advice by everyone. I'm ashamed.
He is OF COURSE in limp mode. My guess is the ECU sensed boost and threw a check engine (Code 3 = MAP?). In a 94 (OBD1) there is a service connector under the passenger dash on the right side. Find it...stick a wire in both holes of that connector. Turn the key to 'on' and your dash CEL will blink. Count how many times it blinks and let us know. Then...pull the ECU fuse for a good 10 minutes (its under the hood in the fuse box I believe). This will reset your ECU. Fire it up...if it runs right until you boost and then starts acting up...the map sensor is seeing boost for some reason and you need to fix this. Check your injector connections as well...one may have come loose. |
