Can't use DSM 390cc on my manual accord?
 

Hi all,

I just spoke to someone that said that I can't use the DSM 380/90 cc injectors (auto talon injectors) on my manual accord? He said I could blow up my engine and that I need to get the 450cc's (map sensor hack only doable with 450cc)? Can anyone validate this? :-\

This is important cuz I only have the gen 1 5 dial AFC which can only control up to -30% which I already installed, and I have the 390cc injector ready?

Please help me figure this out so I can quickly decide if need the newer AFC and 450cc's. I hope it's not true.....

Ok, I think I've found someone using the 390cc's on his manual accord with no problems...Just waiting on him to get back to me and verify...I wouldn' t think there would be a problem as both are P&H right? Hopefully that guy I spoke to is off on this b/c I don' t see a reason why not...

Any insight would be great.thx

the 390s might be better for low boost since you might not be able to turn down the 450s enough

yeah conservative boost levels is what I'm going for.

I don't see why there would be any problem with the 390's is all...

with only a -30% on the old afc I wouldn't use the 450, cause you will run tooo rich the 390cc are good.
-30% on a 390cc flows(273cc) almost as much as -40% on a 450cc(270cc).

ok I heard back from Jon, he said he's went with the 450cc! So I'm back to square 1...does anyone think or know of why I would not be able to use the 390 cc Auto DSM injectors on my F22a accord? :-\

Yeah, I call 'BS' on what that guy told me, I'm going to try install the injectors today (w/o turbo) and try tune with AFC...I really can't see why it wouldn't work.

I'll let you know if I encounter any problems.

Yeah, got the 390cc injectors in... All is working good...turbo is not in yet, but to adjust the flow now I've got it set. As 91AccordLX mentioned, b/c of accords larger displacement (vs civic), we have to run a little richer... These are my AFC settings w/o the turbo in:

800RPM : -12%
2400RPM : -18%
4000RPM : -18%
5000RMP : -18%
7000RMP : 0 (won't go past this)

I may be running richer than need be but the drivability is fine, I'll have to see about fuel milage. I've just got to get a couple more things before the actual instal :)
