Cant get turboedit to data log?

I Have a pm6 and a data loger that I installed the other day. I also Download TurboEdit Version 2.6.1 From chris. I cant figure out how to make it work, or the order to set up the dataloger features. If some one has a step by step that thay could point out, it would help out.

the TE datalog is hard to get to work just search yahoo or goggle and download ecucontrol 5 or whatever the latest version is and try again

I disagree...the version posted on my site is the only I can get to work.

You must be using NG60 code 1st! And your drivers must installed properly and your COM ports setup accordingly...

Re: Cant get turboedit to data log?

Only when it was in the wrong port. I can get it to conect, then I press start loging and the light on the usb conector starts blinking green, but nothing shows up on my screen. If I press the active dash everthing gos all fucked up. It says that im doing 65 mph and my water is like 165* and my intake temp is 165*, but im just at idle.

Re: Cant get turboedit to data log?

TOOLS --> OPTIONS--> Communication

#1 - Set datalogging to the COM port assigned by your drivers (find this in the device manager, dont just try random COM ports)

#2 - Set real time programming to the proper COM port or something other than your datalogging port if not using Ostrich

#3 - Baud Rate 38400

APPLY AND CLOSE

FILE --> DATALOGGER

Connect

Start Logging

Go to tools, options, comunications, set dataloging to com6, set rtp to com 1, baud rate to 38400 apply and close
then I go to File, Dataloging
click conect, start loging.

thats where it ends.
nothing happens on my screen, but the green light on my cable bilnks green.

Re: Cant get turboedit to data log?

im guessing you are using the TE plugin? do you have your wideband settings right? sample rate?

also, is your datalogging cable soldered to the board? or is it removable? i had a similar issue with my serial cable, turns out that i had it plugged into the board backwards...

Re: Cant get turboedit to data log?

well i tried everygthing, so this morning I thought ---- it I will pull my pm6 out and put the data loging conection on to my pr4. So I flip ovet the pm6 pull the screws out and low and behold what do I see? A ------- microscopic chunk of solder sitting between 2 pins on the header. So I scraped my finger across it and it fell out from between the two. Im ------- so pissed of that I didnt check to see if it was that first. Just a :1 mistake. So now I get a runtime error with te,I can log now with ecu control but still no te?

Can someone tell me why you must use the NG60 code. Im using the NG55 and its working

robus 02-22-2007 11:07 AM

Re: Cant get turboedit to data log?

If you are using NG60 use BRE, it supports PM6/PR4 AND it datalogs... Maptrace... Autotune... Obd0... it works!

It will read TE's NG60 maps too btw.
